Vincent Price as a millionaire who has a Halloween party! He invites people he doesn't know to spend a night in a haunted
house. He awards a cash prize for anyone who can make it through. Elisha Cook Jr. as a nervous wreck is wonderful. Blood drips
from the ceiling, a gruesome hand behind a curtain, a head in the box, floating ghosts, hanging bodies, moving skeletons.
One of director William Castle's absolute best.

the sets Universal built are still breathtaking.
THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1939)
Charles Laughton gives a monumental performance as the hunchback Quasimodo. Wonderful sets, stellar cast including Sir
Cedric Hardwicke, Maureen O'Hara, Edmund O'Brien and George Zucco! Hollywood at its finest.
THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1957)
The long-sought after version of the Victor Hugo story. A french production with the terrific Anthony Quinn and Gina
Lollobrigida. In color with the Quasimodo tale interwoven with some sub-plot of alchemy and torture chambers. A trurly touching
ending. While it's hard to compare with the two classics that came before (the Chaney & Laughton versions), this has it's
own charm in a different way. Restored to its 110 minute theatrical running time.
